The USS Zion

Qul Tuq built the first of a new class of ship, the Sovereign class. This was to be the Federation's planned replacement for the Galaxy class, but when a quarter of the Federation's R&D team joined the Maquis, they destroyed the Federation's half-built Sovereign class ship, and brought all the plans of the Sovereign class with them. This was a devastating blow against the Federation's starship program. When the Maquis realised what this R&D coup would do for them, they focused all their resources on building this ship. After only 6 months, it was finished. Built also with an advanced cloak, it was one of the most dangerous ships in the quadrant. The Federation had lost the advantage that they were planning on.

In 2382 The Maquis alliance produced 2 more ships. The USS-Scorpion and later the USS Zion. Both ships were equipped with the latest technology

The Scorpion was finished before the Zion and has been engaged in active duty ever since.

  • 27 February 2382 USS Zion is launched. Begins shake down mission.
  • 28 February 2382 USS Kittyhawk, transporting all senior officers to the USS Zion is destroyed by Hunter's arch-enemy and former mentor, Capt. Reginald Jenkins. Several survivors are rescued, amoung them are Chief Engineer Silvo and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Teilani Dane.
  • 1 March 2382 The bodies of the Zion's senior crew were recovered aboard a shuttle craft left by Jenkins.
  • 2 March 2382 Many light years from Qul Tuq, the Zion's warp core breaks down. Warp 3 is all that can be managed, It will take almost 30 days to make it back to Qul Tuq.
  • 29 March 2382 The Zion returns to Qul Tuq, and Undergoes repairs.
  • 31 March 2382 Charles Atwood and Samantha Carter embark on a deep undercover operation to find out more about Jenkins and his schemes.
  • 3 April 2382 Charles Atwood and Samantha Cater Return from Artus after talking with Rex
  • 7 April 2382 Qul Tuq's most famous Poker run starts
  • 13 April 2382 Dr. Alyssa Northrop boards the Zion.
  • 14 April 2382 Distress call recieved from 5 freighters carrying refugees Zion and Atlanta respond. The Zion destroys the USS Bezar commanded by Captain Dodeson. The USS Horatio is also destroyed by the Zion and the Altanta working together. The "Sparrow Project" is discovered. An interphase temporal device which was being used as a Trojan Horse to bring Cardassians to Qul Tuq.
  • 15 April 2382 Sam Carter and Charles Atwood escape from a Ferengi mobster when their mission goes foul and return safely to the Zion. Crewman Wilson detonates an overloaded phaser killing 2 captives.
  • 22 April 2382The Zion leaves for Rura Penthe with 122 prisoners.
  • 24 April 2382The Zion is taken over prisoners, lead by Gordon Birkoff and Federation Captian, Cpt. Roders. The take over lasts less than 24 hours.
  • 9 May 2382 The Zion enters Klingon Space and is escorted to Rura Penthe. Participates in officer exchange.
  • 16 May 2382 The Zion initiates the prison transfer, Hunter and Dane investigate her brother's past on Rura Penthe
  • 19 May 2382 Transfer is completed, the Zion heads back toward Maquis space.

    Most of the USS Zion's department chiefs were killed when their transport was ambushed by the Jenkin's Cartel. Since they never arrived on the Zion's active duty roster, their names do not appear here.
