Commander Wright strode down the hallway on Deck 8. In his hand he carried a work bag. He had been ordered to surrender his medical equipment to the Zion's CMO by the medical review board. Wright had put it off and so far Doctor Dane had not come looking for it. He decided it was better to just get it over with.

Wright paused a moment before entering sickbay; he fully expected that after a complete review that his medical privileges would be reinstated, but that did not stop him from feeling a bit sad at the prospect of turning over his medical stuff.

Wright took a deep breath and entered sickbay. As the doors swished closed behind him he flashed the nurse a smile and continued on his way to Dane's office.

Hearing some noise Lani looked up. "Commander, this is a surprise." she said gently. "How may I help you?" she asked gesturing at Wright to come in.

"Just taking care of some unfinished business," said Wright.

"Why don't you take a seat Sir." she said pushing her paperwork to the side.

Wright walked in gently set his bag on her desk and then sat down.

"Wanna tell me about it?" Lani asked, pointing at the bag.

Wright shrugged, "There is not much to say. I'm supposed to turn it over to you until Dr. Crusher's investigation is complete."

Lani nodded. "I read a copy of the report."

Wright nodded, and handed the case over to Dane.

"Even I have sources Sir." she said encouragingly, setting the bag next down to her desk "However, the medicine you used, do you still have a sample? If you allow me I would like to run some tests on it. See if the review board was right or not."

Wright shook his head. "I do not have a sample, besides if there was something wrong with the medicine they would have me in the brig right now."

"That's true. I just don't see what the big fuss is about it. Lots of people were saved by it."

"It's just a political game for Simmons. He is trying to make a name for himself."

"Simmons... older man, grayish hair?" she asked.

Wright nodded, "I served with him on the USS Comfort."

"He is everybody's nightmare. If need be he will pull everything out of the closest to ... Let's just say he adores publicity.

"That he does," Wright agreed. "Well, I'm confident that I'll be back to collect my bag," said Wright gesturing toward it. "Please keep it safe for me. There are some sentimental things in there that mean a lot to me."

"No problem Commander, I will put it behind lock and key." Teilani replied. "Nobody will touch it besides myself and you when you come and collect it."

Wright nodded, "Thanks!"

"Commander, I was wondering would you perhaps care to join me for lunch?"

"Sure," replied Wright. "I have a noon meeting so how about at 1330 hours?"

"That will be fine." Teilani said and stood up. "Now if you will excuse me, I have to put a certain bag behind lock and key."

Wright simply nodded his head and left her office.

Miranda's was quiet as Teilani entered it just a little before 13.30hrs. It had been a while since she had been there and judging from the decor, Miranda had been doing some re-decorating.

"Hello Miranda, I love what you have done to the place." Teilani said looking around.

Instead of the walls being a dullish grey they were now a soft purple, various paintings decorated the walls. Teilani could make out some famous artists from Vulcan and Bajor.

In a far corner, highlighted, stood a magnificent wooden carving.

Teilani pointed at it. "That is absolutely stunning? Who made it?"

"Good afternoon Doctor," replied Miranda, a smile crossing her lips. "It's good to change things around every once in a while." She eyes Dane for a moment and then pulled a bottle off the top shelf of the bar. "The carving is from a young engineer named Witmore." She poored the contents of the bottle into a tall glass and quickly capped the bottle again. "Try this one," she said sliding the drink over to the doctor.

After a few moments the clear liquid turned a cloudy red colour. "This is one of my favourite drinks," said Miranda.

Teilani eyed the drink for a second. "Is it new?"

Miranda smiled. "It's not all that new, but you were the first person on the Zion who has tried one."

She slowly took a sip.. "Hmmm strawberries, with a hint of.. mint.. Teilani smacked her lips. "I love strawberries...."

Miranda smiled again but did not say anything.

"So how are things in the lounge nowadays." Lani asked turning around the glass in which the liquid had changed to a bright yellow."

"It's been pretty busy," she replied. Miranda watched as the color in Dane's glass changed.

"That color looks interesting." Miranda pointed to her glass.

"Hey it changed color." Teilani chuckled... "This is a fun drink...taking a sip again. Hmmmm pineapple. Did you know my favorite colour is yellow?"

"I wasn't aware of that," said Miranda. "Are you eating alone tonight?"

She shook her head. "No I am waiting for Commander Wright."

As if on cue Wright walked into the lounge and made his way over to the bar, where the doctor sat talking to Miranda. "Hello," he said with a smile."

"Hello Commander," replied Miranda, turning around and ordering something from a nearby replicator.

"Hello Sir, " Lani said as she stood up. "Shall we remain here or take a table?"

Wright looked around the lounge, there were plenty of tables to choose from, "Let's find a table." The crossed the room and found a table that offered a great view of space outside.

After they had sat down Wright watched as Teilani's drink changed color. "That's a very interesting drink."

"Fascinating isn't it? Have you ever tried it?" Teilani asked as she took a sip from the now purplish colour.

Wright shook his head as a waitress brought his a steaming mug of coffee. Miranda always seemed to know just what he wanted to drink. "I can't say that I have."

Then her faces scrunched... "Some colors are divine but others place an attack on your tastbuds."

Wright chuckled, "I'll stick with coffee."

"Are you concerned Sir," Lani asked.

"About what?"

"For us getting to the Sol system?"

"I'm not as worried about getting there as I am about getting the job done and bringing everyone back home again. It is a pretty dangerous mission, but if it will end this war we have to try it."

She nodded. "That is true, however, I think the war is getting to an end. Most people are tired from it. It cost too much resources and lives of course.

"Let's just hope that things get better rather than worse," said Wright. He did not want to think about what life would be like if the Federation were to win the war.

"It will, I am sure of it." Teilani said.

"So, how have things been in sickbay Doctor?"

“Not bad actually, the occasional bumps and bruises. Nothing spectacular to be honest.” Teilani smiled. “It gave me time to educate Ms Goldman.”

"Ah, yes," said Wright taking a drink of his coffee, "How is Jelly doing?"

“The knowledge is there, I just have to find a way to get it out of her. She is willing to learn though.”

"That is always a good thing," said Wright.

“Of course we all make mistakes, but isn’t that a way for us to learn from it and then make sure we won’t make the same mistake again?”

"I think she needs to build up her confidence level a little," said Wright.

“How about you Sir, I must think that life on the bridge must be pretty boring sometimes.”

"It's actually been pretty interesting. We have been testing a new prototype for the Pegasus class attack ship."

" Ah so that was all the secrecy about.. Who is going to fly it?"

"A couple of marine pilots. Real hot shots." Wright flashed Dane a smile.

"Why not yourself? I mean don't you want to have your own ship one of those days?"

"I'm a former doctor not a test pilot," said Wright still smiling. "These guys are pretty good pilots though so I am sure the project is in good hands."

Teilani shrugged. "Perhaps you are right, although a new challenge can be exhilarating."

Suddenly Teilani’s combadge chirped. =/]= Doctor can you please report to sickbay?

On my way.” Teilani replied. “Well it seems that will never have a chance to sit down and eat quietly. If you will excuse me.?

Wright nodded.

“Perhaps next time we can finish our talk.” Lani said placing her napkin on the table and walked away.
