==Promenade Qul Tuq==

Ryan was walking along Qul Tuq’s promenade. He was absent minded. He was reflecting on the accident. “DD! DD!” A young woman’s voice came from behind. His face cleared up. DD; Dear daddy, only one person in the world used that phrase. he turned around and smiled proudly. “Danielle!” He yelled as she jumped in his arms. He held her close. “What are you doing on Qul Tuq. I though you where on earth.” He let her go. “mom and I sneaked to this side.” “lets go to a restaurant” he suggested. “That would be a good idea.” A other woman said. he turned around again. “Well hello Maria.” He said cheery. “and how are you?” he said trying to sound interested. “Fine” she said. “well lets find a restaurant. You know what lets go to quarks.” “Isn’t that the annoying ferengi’s place?” “yeah I like annoying him.” “I would never have guessed.” She said with a mocking smile. “you know me well enough.” “I’d think so.”

They sad down at a table on the upper level. “well hello major, I should warn you. You won’t get away with beating me up.” quark said. “I doubt that. But how do you know about that?’

“People talk.” “yeah and some to much. I want to order.” “sure thing. We’ll you pick young mates.” “She’s my daughter quark.” “I thought she was 5.” “that’s the other one.” Ryan sighed. “ok so she must be your date.” He said pointing at Maria. “No, she’s my ex wife.” “I thought she was in prison?” “That’s the other one.” “Hm. That’s complicated.” “it must be hard for your tiny brains. Now we’d like a coffee, a whisky and a root beer.” “since when are you drinking root beer dad?” Danielle asked. “its for you.” She laughed. “I’ll have a trakalian sunrise.” “I forgot you grew up.” Ryan smiled.

While they where waiting for Maria asked “Why would he be afraid you’d beat him up? you’re no a violent person.” “No but I knocked down 2 nurses who held me back when the doctor was operating on Alice and…” “O my god! What happened?” Maria interrupted him. “Problems on the holodeck, we have been having a lot of technical difficulty’s lately. She fell down… must have been 3 meters, nasty head injury. We where transported to sickbay and I overreacted a bit.” “Well that’s understandable.” “Thank you!” Ryan said glad to finally have found someone who agreed whit him. “and then the two nurses filled a complaint… we resolved the matter quite nicely, I think. They have not come to me to ask an explanation.”

Quark arrived “I wouldn’t say that.” He interrupted. “What do you mean.” “Well the medical crew is extremely angry, and so is a lot of the rest of the crew. Wild stories are going around. Every incident is blow up to huge story’s. I heard you pulled a phaser and stunned them for five minutes. An other crewmen told me you took a dagger and stabbed them. All to protect that irritating spoiled brad.” Ryan was stunned. “we’ll talk about this later. Quark. Put this on my tab.” He turned to his daughter. “So tell me how did you end up here?”

She told him the story, how they had paid a feregi smuggler to bring them here. She had conned him by paying only 10 per cent. She sounded proud of her self, and so was Ryan. They went to his quarters where Danielle had a happy reunion with Alice. Later that night Ryan and Maria sad down while Alice was giving Danielle a tour of the ship. “So tell me what are you plans Maria?” “I have an position as a doctor on the Bajoran Veteran hospital. I’m going to be chief surgeon.” “Great.” Ryan said. “Maria I have a question to ask you. Would it be possible to.” She held up her hand to silence him. “Ryan say no more. Of course Alice can stay with me on Bajor for a while.” Ryan smiled she knew him like the back of her hand. “it’s not good for her now. If I knew tensions where this high I’d have found something sooner but we’re shipping out tomorrow. And…” “Ryan I get it. Lets pack her bags.” “At times like this I thank god we split up in peace.” “Ryan you’ll never thank god.” They started packing.

=later that day=

“Bye sweetheart.” Ryan said hugging his little girl. “We’ll meet again soon ok.” She started crying. “you promised you never leave. Not like mommy.” “Listen sweetie, daddy loves you, you know that right?” She nodded. He wiped away her tears. “Now you remember The men that daddy hit?” She nodded again. “They are very angry with daddy, and I don’t trust them. There to dangerous for you, that’s why I’m sending you along with aunt Maria. Then your safe and daddy can work on the problem he has with them ok?” “ok” she said very unwillingly. He kissed her hair. “Be a big girl now.” He nodded to Maria who guided her away. “You really think those men are dangerous.” Danielle asked while giving Ryan a hug. “Not to her, there Maquis enlisted after all. But I want her out of here. I have giving to orders to all marines Senior officers to evacuate there children if possible, Under the pretence of the danger of the next mission.” “That’s not nice.” “No but I want them out of the way, if frictions occur between the marines and the crew.” He let her go. “go get some sleep. We’ll spend a day or 2 when I get back, I’ll take some shore leave.” “its good to see you again DD.”

“I missed you the past year, Danielle. More than you could ever imagine. Now go” She kissed him on the cheek and walked away.
