Joined an exchange program to the Marines at the age of 21 after reaching the age of Warriors. Served aboard the USS Repulse during the exchange program. After the 2 years in the exchange program, he decided to join Star Fleet as a marine. He was sent on many missions where he rescued several Federation persons from behind enemy lines. Later serving aboard the USS where Captain Merrek gave him an order to kill innocent children and their families claiming they where enemies of the Federation. Kandar and the other marines of his company conspired and found a safe place to hide them.

Has several specially designed fighting holo programs to assist him with keeping his fighting skills up. While serving aboard Federation ships, some of the crew exposed him to some Earth stories about werewolves, and became fascinated with them because of some of the resemblance to some of his peoples rituals.

Has problems with authority in regards to how to attack an enemy, and has an issue with working in large groups. Tends to be very quiet, and withdrawn from social gatherings.

Whenever possible, Kandar participates in in a ritual fasting every 26 days. This corresponds to a full moon phase on his home planet. Many Aticans have discarded their ancient religious practices. Kandar, like others in his tribe hold on to those values, passing them on from generation to generation.
