| Childhood (birth to Adult): | She was born in Scotland to parents of Scottish decent. Her father was born and raised in America to Scottish immigrants and her mother was born and raised in Scotland. Madge is the "baby" sister to five older brothers, so grew up to be a 'tomboy'. She spent the first fifteen years of her life in Scotland before the family moved to the States where her father became a Federal court Judge. | |
| Early Education | Madge went to normal Primary and Secondary school as most children her age did. In addition to that, her parents and brothers saw too it that she received "home schooling" in a diversity of subjects not taught at normal schools. She grew up with more than a healthy respect for the law and with quite an appreciation for Art and Literature. She also gained a smattering of trivia knowledge from her brothers as she was always the one who had to help them "study". | |

After receiving her degrees in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science at Yale University, she joined the Pelagron Interplanetary Security Force, which is a privately-owned security force that stepped into the grey areas in the private and corporate sector where the Federation didn't want to go. She spent six years as one of their top Security Forces Officer. She had an exemplary record during her time in the Pelagron's service. She served on several different planets and in several different commercial freighters, and has experience in weapon systems security, air defenses, JAG-like investigations, riot control, and in SWAT-like team antiterrorism maneuvers and training. She had every intention of having a long career in the Pelagron's service but the Federation's position after the Federation-Cardassian treaty had her resigning her commission earlier than planned so that she could actively seek out the Marquis to join their forces. She joined he Maquis in the later part of 2371, and was one of the first "Marines" recruited. Over the last eleven years, her service for the Maquis has been exemplary and she has earned herself a reputation as being 'tough as nails'. She's the first to admit that most of her reputation is just a wee bit exaggerated, and it appeals to her rather wicked sense of humor when its discovered that the reputation of Major "Voice" MacAlister actually belongs to a woman instead of a man. |

| Personality Profile | Madge is a no nonsense woman on the outside. She's practical, honest and grounded, living up to that tough Marine/Security guard persona. She is not afraid to call a spade a spade and will fight for the people under her command. She's never asked a subordinate to do something she isn't willing to do, and hasn't done herself. She's strict and professional, but isn't afraid to let her hair down. She considers herself "one of the guys", but inside she's idealistic and a little whimsical. | |

Madge was born with a rather unique ability. She has a photographic memory when it comes to languages, and has the ability to rapidly learn any language if sufficient material is available for her to work with. Once a language is mastered, she is fluent in that language provided she is physically capable of communicating in it. The only real drawback to her ability is that Madge may accidentally forget her native language, especially if she rarely uses it. Still, she can always re-learn it. There is a danger that an adversary might warp her Linguistic Ability and actually negate her language comprehension; in such a case, she becomes dyslexic and unable to understand simple English. A curious side-effect of her ability is that it provides Resistance to Hypnotic Voice and other telepathy or sonic-based forms of Hypnosis or Mind Control. Her mind shifts into its translation mode; it studies the medium through which the hypnosis is communicated rather than the actual message. | |
