| Childhood (birth to Adult): | Mason spent much of his childhood as an orphan bouncing from one family to the next. His mother died when he was 4 and his father drank himself to death shortly after her death. When he was 14 he finally was taken in by a caring family who rasied him as their own. | |

Mason had a fairly standard education. It was not until he was adopted when he was 14 that his new parents ignited the desire to learn. When he was 18 he entered college and took an imediate interest in history. When he was 21 Mason was accepted into the Starfleet Academy. When he graduated he was assigned to the USS Freebird as a security officer. |
