Maxine's mother and father died in a vehicle accident six months after she graduated from Maquis Academy.

| Childhood (birth to Adult):

Max was born in 2356 on the date once celebrated for the freedom of the old Earth country known as the United States of America. Her parents were both scientists. Her father was a renowned mathematician and her mother was a well known mechanical engineer. Maxine grew up in one lab or the other, bouncing from parent to parent as they raised their daughter with as much academic exposure as possible. It soon became obvious that the very young child prodigy had an uncanny talent with computers and even seemed to "understand" their language without any education. It didn't take too long for Max's parents to recognize this, and thus turned their efforts to feeding their knowledge "sponge" of a daughter.
Maxine's childhood was spent immersed in learning and applying what she learned. Through her parents, she had access to all the state of the art computer systems she could possibly want. When she wasn't studying, she was lost in the world of the binary. When she was ten, Max tried to devise a way to physically integrate her system to one of the computers by attempting to tap into her nervous system. What she lacked in physiological knowledge, she more than made up for in her chosen field. She wasn't successful of course, and has scars on her wrists as proof of that endeavor. The event did herald a turning point in her life when her parents presented her with a neural transmitter that enabled her to communicate directly with the computers, which was exactly what she wanted.
Her parent's education of Maxine ended when she entered the Maquis Academy and joined the ranks of the Maquis Officers.

| Early Education

Maxine was schooled by a combination of her parents and formal schooling. She excelled in primary school, passing grades at an almost alarming rate. Her focus was computers and computer languages, and mathematics. By the time she was 19 she had earned PhDs in Computer Linguistics and Computer Programming. |
| Starfleet Career
|
Maxine graduated with honors from the Maquis Academy in 2379 as an Ensign. Her teachers were very impressed by her seemingly uncanny natural ability with computers and computer languages. Her first tour of duty was aboard the USS Trident where she served as an Operations Officer and earned high praise of her abilities from her commanding officer. She served for three years aboard the Trident before being transferred to the USS Zion.

Maxine, or Maxy or Max actually, generally has a sort of tomboyish, rather geeky air about her. She's usually always half distracted as part of her mind is off in cyberspace somewhere constantly thinking of subnets and nets, routes, sub-space relays, and gateways. Actually, not thinking so much as visualizing them in a spider-webby way that the net is so aptly named for. Either that, or her mind is busily working its way through a 'visual' maze to get from point A to point B. She thinks in code and isn't ashamed to admit that she understands Binary. She has very poor people skills but can almost "talk" to a Tricorder or PADD. |

Maxine is hyperactive and rarely sleeps. Her mind is always working and always turning everything she sees and hears into code. She also has a voracious appetite but never gains any weight. She suffers from migraine headaches and has a very unique way of looking at things and people.
She has several tribal tattoos. |
