"Q'pla!" shouted Captain Darg thumping his chest in a Klingon salute.

Hunter grinned, the Klingons were excellent tacticians, "Q'pla"

He looked over at Commander Wright and Westfall. While the Zion's crew was certainly capable, he was glad the Klingons where backing them.

The Klingons all stood and left one by one. Chattering about the victorious battle ahead.

When the last of them left, Hunter turned to Wright, "Well Number One? what do you think?"

Wright Smiled, "Klingons are very enthusiastic about their battles aren't they?"

Hunter sat back down in his chair. "Indeed, but we still have much work to do," he replied.

"Westfall, can we assimilate our strategies easily with the Klingons?"

"Given the cross-training profile we ran following the prisoner uprising, Captain, Max gave me a digested course in the principles of Klingon strategic engagement. I've reviewed the notes I made then, and I believe all of the complimentary protocols have been implemented in all departments where possible. If all goes well on this side, we should fit together like a hand in a custom made glove".

"Impressive Westfall," Hunter nodded, "Very good, carry on."

"Aye-aye Captain", Westfall replied, saluting his Captain. Westfall turned on his heel, and left.

Wright also dismissed himself.

Hunter turned his chair and stared out the port window for a very long time.

He collected his thoughts and turned toward his desk to make his log.

==Captain's Log Supplemental==

Under orders from Admiral Stone, the Zion is now enroute to intercept a convoy of Federation ships. At 1500 we were joined by a Klingon task force sent by the High Consul. Captain Darg and his first officer Max joined us from the D'Kuul. We have just concluded a joint tactical review and are now ready to engage the enemy.

We have 7 ships all together, Three B'rel class ships, the Bah'rabba, the Kos'Pah, and the Gokatagh. We also have two K'tinga class ships, the D'kuul and the B'Moth. We also have one V'orcha class, the Toh Kaht.

As long as we are able to maintain formation, all ships will use low power direct link communications to avoid detection. The B'rel class ships will be used to flush out any cloaked Cardassian ships which may be escorting the Federation Convoy.

We expect to engage the Federation battle group about 24 hours.

==End Log==

Hunter paused to reflect on the Toh Kaht's fever for battle. Indeed while Klingons in general experienced battlelust, the crew of this ship was notorious for their campaigns against the Federation.

Hunter stood up and walked out onto the bridge and sat in the command chair. A few minutes later the tactical station chirped.

"Captain Hunter, the D'Kul is reporting the Klingon compliment is reporting Ready to Engage".

Hunter nodded, "Very well Westall, acknowledge their signal and engage the cloak." "Their signal is authenticated, sending our acknowledgment, engaging the cloak now, Captain".

From the bridge of the Toh Kaht, Captain Kor watched the Zion shimmer like a mirage and faded from their view screen. A toothy smile crossed his face as visions of glorious battles filled his eyes. Raising his fist he uttered Klingon battle cries. His bridge crew joined in.

On the Zion, Hunter turned the command chair forward, "Helm! set a course for 252 mark 9, warp 8.6."

"Course laid in" came the reply.

"Engage" said Hunter.

Hunter turned to the OPs station, "forward sensors on maximum," he ordered, "report anything unusual."

"Aye-aye."

Hunter turned to Wright, "has Silvio and Westfall had a chance to assimilate Mason's information about the Cardassian's cloak?"

"Silvio has spoken with Mason and it making the necessary modifications to the sensors," replied Wright.

Hunter leaned forward in the command chair, with his elbows resting on its arms, his steepled his fingers touched his lips as he contemplated how this information might play into the upcoming battle. "Do you think we should advise the Klingons of this information?"

"At this point," began Wright, "It would do them not good as they would not have the time to effect the changes. I also would rather make sure they work before we talk too freely about it."

"I have to agree." said Hunter,

Wright nodded, "If it does indeed work, it will be a very useful tool. Is there any intelligence that would indicate that there could be cardassians involved at Pacifica?"

Hunter shook his head as he tried to recall an old earth saying about flies, "It would be hard to think there wouldn't be," he replied.

"I hope Mason's information is accurate," said Wright. "Silvio seemed pleased with the details Mason provided, so that is a good sign."

Hunter leaned back in his chair and focused one the battle ahead.
