Testing, One... Two... Three... "

"Pixie. We need t'run another test program," Maxine announced. She was laying on her bed with her hands behind her head as her eyes tracked the code that moved across the screen before her.

Krystal poked her head out from between the leaves and branches = "growing" out of the replicator she'd claimed as her nest. "Another one?" she queried. "But all the tests we've run have come back within 0.01316 = percent of perfect," the pixie pointed out. "And you know =3Dnothing=3D is ever perfect. Well. Except me, of course," she grinned. "And the Spec book states that a Starfleet allowable tolerance for error is between 2.095 = and 1.783. Our tests have all been well below that," she reminded Maxine.

Maxie quirked a brow and took her eyes from the screen to look over at = the pixie. The code being displayed automatically paused where she'd read = it last. Her eyes widened as she took in the fae's appearance. There was = all manner of bobbles and shiny things stuck in the pixie's hair and on different parts of her body. She looked like she'd been raiding the reclamation units, which was impossible in a practical materialistic = way, but not in theory. In theory she could rearrange her appearance to = reflect anything she found in the physical and wanted to incorporate into her avatar. "I know that," Maxine finally agreed. "But Ensign Westfall."

"The Tactical Officer?" Krystal interposed.

"Aye, that'd be the one," Maxine nodded. "He's fretting.."

"He has issues," Krystal pointed out.

"Yeup. I know that too. But yanno. I think *I* would have issues if = my ship had been stolen out from under my nose," Maxine pointed out. = "Wouldn't you be cautious if someone came in and swiped the computer systems away = from us? And while we were looking even?"

The pixie fluttered her wings while she called on her rationalizing subroutines to process Maxie's question. "We would know if that = happened," she finally pointed out.

"You hope we would," Maxine corrected and chewed thoughtfully on the = small isolinear chip that seemed to be ever-present in her mouth. "Expect the unexpected. Plan for the worse. Anything can happen" she paused for a moment. "In other words.. Run the test scenario, Pixie. And overload = the sensor and data relays to see what happens. Make sure the fail-safes = kick in."

Krystal came to attention in mid air and saluted, complete with a small spray of golden dust. "Aye aye, boss lady!" Then she ruined the effect = by giggling.

Maxine rolled her eyes a bit but had to laugh. "Hop to it then!" she = used her best 'drill sergeant's' voice, which just made the little pixie = giggle even more. Max grinned over at her and then tapped her comm. badge, activating the communications grid before going back to her reading. =20

"Ensign Tapert to the Bridge," she waited until she was acknowledged = before continuing, explaining to the Watch Commander what she was doing in case they noticed anything unusual. With that done, she went back to her = reading and the code resumed its display on the screen before her.
