By: Teilani Dane, Chief Medical Officer, [PC]
Max , XO - NPC , [NPC]
Ian Hunter, Commanding Officer, [PC]

Stardate: 58204.11 1305

Location: Sickbay.

"Look M'Giia," Teilani said firmly to one of her medics. "You are responsible for the inventory. You lost the inventory list, so now you can go and find it. If it means that you have to go down to cargo bay 3 and check it manually then so be it."

"But Doctor Dane, I have scheduled some holodeck time and I.." he muttered.

"No discussion Ensign fix it," Teilani ordered as her eyes shot fire. Dismissed!"

"Bitch," M'Giia whispered as he walked away.

"I heard that Ensign," Teilani responded. "If you keep this attitude I will make sure that you are demoted is that clear!"

He nodded as he walked away.

Teilani sighed; chewing out one of her staff was not one of the most pleasant things she could think off. Slowly she walked over to the replicator, she was in desperate need of a good cup of coffee.

Hunter entered the Sickbay with Max, the Klingon exchange officer. As they neared, Hunter smiled, "Dr. Dane, I would like to introduce you to Max, he is taking Commander Wright's place in the officer exchange program."

"Good afternoon Captain, Commander." Teilani responded as she looked curiously at the large Klingon.

"Max, this is our good Doctor, Teilani Dane."

"A pleasure to meet you Doctor." he replied.

Hunter interjected, "We were just completing a tour of the ship, we've got one place left to visit, Miranda's, if you would like to join us?"

"Thank you Captain, I would love to."

Arriving at Miranda's the three sat down. A waitress came and took their orders.

Hunter ordered a carbonated cola.

"A Vulcan mocca Ice coffee, double strong." Teilani ordered.

Max nodded his head, "I'll try what doctor ordered." he said.

"An excellent choice Commander," she said.

"I've always enjoyed the amenities of your ships, 'live well, die well' I've always said," he chortled.

"Qapla," Teilani responded. "Tell me Commander, is it true that most klingons think that Maquis ships and crew are a bunch of ragtags, with no feeling for honour and respect?"

Max chuckled, "No, that is quite not true. They feel that the Maquis are pampered and coddled," he chuckled again. A deep furrow creased his brow as his voice turned serious. "But the Maquis have demonstrated their honor in many battles."

Teilani listend carefully as she sipped her Ice coffee. "Honor is very important to the Klingons isnt it? I mean is it true that the total sum of an individual's actions as well as those of his parents and ancestors, can be measured by his honour?"

Max nodded, "Yes, that is traditional Klingon belief."

"How do you feel about the cooperation between the Maquis and the Klingon empire. I mean many eons ago the Empire was raided by the H'urg, they took many klingon cultural and historical treausre, including the Sword of Kahless.

"The past can not be undone." He shrugged and looked at Hunter. "For me, I do not stand in the shadow of tradition or cry about what can not be changed."

Hunter nodded.

"Forgive me Commander, I should not have brought up the past. It is just that the Klingon culture fascinates me." Teilani said softly. "It is a pleasure to have you onboard. I hope you will enjoy yourself."

Max smirked. "No worries Doctor. I plan to. But first a little shake up is in order for the crew."

Teilani arched an eyebrow. "Well I look forward to that Sir," she said with a small giggle. "If you'll excuse me I have to return to sickbay."
