The Captain stood up and walked around to the tactical officer's perch. "Mr. Westfall, Please review all Cardassian data. I've received word that they're now using cloaking devices. If we run into any hostile Cardassians, I want the quickest tactical resolution possible."

Aye Aye, Captain Hunter. I whole-heartedly concur. The middle of a fire-fightis no time to start reacting to threats you hadn't considered at all likely. That's what the enemy *loves* to throw out. "Sitting Duck Shooting Gallery", is what I've heard it called. Find them all quietly swimming along, pop your gun barrel out the blind, and "*BANG*". You've just *bagged* Momma, Papa, and all the chicks too. It's a hell of a good way to break up a family. "I'm sorry Son, you're an orphan...because your Daddy didn't *think* the bad men were out to get him". Hunter gave Westfall a perplexed look as he continued to ramble,

Captain, any solid intel whose cloaking technology they're using? The counter-measures are slightly different, and It would help me fine-tune our offensive and defensive systems. This is certainly "news-flash" category material to me, I didn't think the Cardassians would be able to install cloaking technology into their systems, from an engineering standpointat least as I *was* taught at the Academy. Sir: Remind me to move all my obsolete notes to the History Appendix, I *Really* hate crowding my PADD with old news.

Hunter ruefully shook his head, hoping that Mr. Westfall wasn't always so narrative.

"Slow down a little don't get carried away...now, I am not sure who's cloaks they are using, the Commodore didn't say. Just maintain active scans, report anything unusual to me right away. You see anything that makes you nervous, sound yellow alert and go to full shields," said Hunter.

"Standard procedure, Captain, we don't *have* to hide, there is a certain tactical advantage to active sensor sweep. It *can* be interpreted that we're the predator, and that's an edge. They have to guess whether your "finger" the one on my hand, Sir is itchy enough to "Fire"! On the Captain's order, of course.

Again, Hunter shook his head. "Mr. Westfall," said Hunter stepping close to him, with a stern and subdued voice, "...in the future, please save your witty commentaries for deck 10. When you are on my bridge I expect short and concise responses. Is that understood Ensign?"

"Understood, Sir...Sorry about that. Occasionally, my tongue gets ahead of my brain, and I ramble".

Hunter took a step back from Westfall and smiled with a nod, "good."

"We have an Intel officer on board, I would suggest visiting with him about the Cardassian cloaking technology."

"That would be Mr. Atwood, I think is his name, Sir"?

You are Correct.

When I get through with my shift here, I'll see if he's on or off duty and see if we can have an informal discussion and go over what is commonly known about Cardassian technology adaptations.

Exceptional Ensign, said Capt Hunter, carry on then. If you need anything, Ill be in my ready room.

The Captain made his way to the ready room, he looked over his shoulder as the door closed.
