==Outside Riaans Quarters==

Riaan exited her quarters and checked the ships schematic and found the Counselors Office was located on Deck 8 in Sickbay

It was handy having the turbo lifts near by.

Riaan entered the turbo lift and as the doors closed behind her she told the computer deck eight. A few seconds later the turbo lift stopped on deck eight.

It took a few seconds to find Sick Bay.

=11:50===Ensign Zoeis Office==

Riaan entered Sick Bay and looked around until she saw the sign on the Counselors door and she headed over and knocked, excuse me I am Ensign Riaan the Captain asked me to come and see you. If this is not a good time I can always come back later, I realize it is near lunch hour.

"Come in, Ensign. Now will be a fine time to meet. Since it is the lunch hour, would you care for something to drink while we visit?

That would be nice thank you, a coffee would be suite me fine regular, replied Riaan to Zoie

Zoie crossed to the replicator, "Raspberry iced tea, with two raspberries, and a regular coffee.

Zoie led Riaan to a conversation area in her office. She settled into comfortable chair, tucked her feet under herself, and gestured to Riaan to have a set in the companion chair. After Riann was seated, Zoie handed Riaan her coffee.

Riaan thanked Zoie for the coffee.

"Riaan, I understand you are looking for a transition to the Operations department. How do you feel about that?

Riaan thought for a few minutes and replied that it was different and not knowing to much about that department that it would take time to adjust. I have been so used to fighting for several years that maybe this would be a good time to make a change and learn something less barbaric.

"Tell me about yourself. What are your hopes and plans for the future?" Zoie asked.

Riaan looked at Zoie, I am not sure no one ever asked me that before. I know my parents wanted me to follow in their footsteps but I was not interested in being neither a Scientist like my mom nor a Doctor like my dad. I wanted something more that is why I joined the Panther hoping to find out who I really was.

Dont get me wrong I loved the thrill and the life aboard the Panther the assignments and the adrenalin rush were unbelievable, but I heard the Maquis were always looking for good fighters and that was what I was trained to do. I was known as one of the best and the strongest and I had the stamina to boot aboard the Panther never fearing death nor facing it face to face and having survived many times to boot. It seemed as if I always had someone watching over me. Many times I should have been killed but managed to survive the doctors thought it was because of the stamina and the will power of wanting to live. I have the scars to prove I was good at what I did and I was a great warrior. I learned to survive and to be the best around.

I learned not to show no emotion or weakness and how to be a true killing machine. I showed no remorse nor did I blink an eye even if innocent by-standers where killed that was to be expected at times not my fault that they were there at the wrong time. I was assigned a job to do and that was what I did and I was good at it. A good way the Captain summarized my responsibilities and duties aboard the Panther is I was a mercenary and I cant disagree. I explained to the Captain, I am afraid it is not uncommon, as you may very well know to have mercenaries around to do the dirty work for some and even you cant dispute that fact as Riaan looked at Zoie.

Since I joined the Academy I have been slowly learning to trust. Aboard the Panther we had no friends only acquaintances not knowing if anyone was going to come back alive or not. Here I am hoping to change my life and I understand the Captain has some reservations because of my past, which I understand.

I did promise the Captain I would not use those abilities that I was taught unless the ships security was breached or one of the crews lives was at stake and that I would put my own life on the line to protect the ship or one of the crews life.

In time I maybe able to answer what my hopes and dreams are but I am afraid I dont really know.

Riaan showed no emotion in her voice, or her body nor showed any regrets for her past actions well chatting to Zoie she was asked to come and see her and that was what she was doing. She appeared completely cold hearted. She was being blunt with Zoie with her questions that were asked of her. She very rarely looked away only to take a sip of her coffee and kept eye contact with Zoie while she responded to her questions. It appeared as if Riaan was sizing Zoie at the same time she was responding to her questions.

Is there anything further you wish to ask of me, asked Riaan to Zoie?

"Those are all the questions I have for you. I will be forwarding my report to the Captain. I am sure he will be in touch with you after he has reviewed it." Zoie escorted Riann to the door. "Thank you for coming, it has been most informative."
